Falmouth ME: The
Windham U14 Boys battled PAYSA in a 5-1 loss in the
finals of the Falmouth Fall Classic.

Windham took a 1-0
lead in the first half. Windham was awarded a direct
kick just outside the box in the left corner. The
kick was crossed in front of the goal where a
Windham player blasted it at the keeper. The PAYSA
keeper was able to deflect the ball but couldn't
control it and a Windham player deposited it in the
back of the net.

Windham held the lead
until late in the first half when PAYSA was awarded
a penalty kick. The kick got past the Windham Keeper
for an apparent goal until the ref announced an
encroachment violation against PAYSA. The goal was
nullified and Windham was awarded a goal kick.

Windham took the 1-0
lead into halftime.

PAYSA came to life in
the second half, scoring five unanswered goals to
earn the victory and championship.

Windham advanced to
the finals by defeating Merrymeeting 3-1 and
Falmouth 3-2 while losing to PAYSA 4-1 in pool play.
